History

A strategic milestone for the Center for Mathematical Modeling is the creation of the National Laboratory for Scientific Computing, which houses the ATUQ Supercomputer. The Laboratory began its operations in 2013, with equipment acquired through two projects from the Secretariat of Higher Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation (SENESCYT). Subsequently, a powerful blade system was incorporated as a result of agreements with the Oceanographic and Antarctic Institute of the Navy (INOCAR) and the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMHI). This has enabled the center to currently manage the ATUQ supercomputer, the most important in the country for high-performance scientific computing tasks.
