About Us

Welcome to the ATUQ Supercomputer webpage, managed by the Scientific Computing Laboratory of MODEMAT. We provide access to supercomputing resources to enhance research projects that require intensive calculations for simulations and large-scale numerical solutions. ATUQ is an HPC (High Performance Computer) specifically designed and configured to harness the core matrix when executing algorithms and software packages with CPU and GPU parallelization capabilities. If you need to use our system, you will find information on how to utilize our computational resources on this page.

Frequently Asked Questions

The HPC-MODEMAT system is designed to provide computer support to research projects that require large computing capacities. The numerical calculation power of the HPC is based on that it can execute software or parallelized code, taking advantage of multiple processing cores to solve a large numerical problem such as several minor problems, which are solved simultaneously, and their respective results are assembled to obtain a numerical answer to the original problem.

The HPC system serves to execute parallelized code using MPI, programmed in languages such as Fortran, C, Python, CUDA (On Tesla cards), among others. In addition, it is possible to use scientific packages such as Matlab, R, WRF, RAXML, or it is also possible to execute code or software via Singularity/Docker

In order to access the information available for the use of the HPC-MODEMAT System, users must have their access credentials to log to the HPC-MODEMAT System page. The access credentials are the same that you use to log in to that system. To obtain them you must read the previous question: “How to access the HPC-MODEMAT system service?“

Among the documents that have been prepared regarding the use of the HPC-MODEMAT System are the following:

    Manuals:
    - The User Manual is only accessible to registered and logged-in users. LINK

Instructions: (Accessible to registered and logged-in users only)
    - NETSCALER VPN Configuration Guide LINK
    - Instructions for VPN connection of the Escuela Politécnica Nacional LINK

    Policies:
    - The Policies for the HPC-MODEMAT system Use is publicly available. LINK
    - The Password Policy is only accessible to registered and logged-in users. LINK

    Procedures:
    - The User Management Procedure is publicly accessible. LINK
    - The Requirements Management Procedure is only accessible to registered and logged-in users. LINK

    Websites:
    - The HPC-MODEMAT System Web Page is publicly accessible
    - The Use Calendar is only accessible to registered and logged-in users. LINK

It is possible to access the HPC-MODEMAT system remotely by using a VPN. To obtain virtual network credentials follow the procedure "About VPN Access" described: in the in the Requirements Management Procedure regarding the HPC-MODEMAT system (It is for exclusive access for HPC-MODEMAT System users).
